Sonam Tshedzom Tingkhye, choreography & dance arts
Sonam Tshedzom Tingkhye is a movement artist from Seattle, Washington. She recently graduated from The Boston Conservatory at Berklee as a scholarship recipient where she received her BFA in Contemporary Dance. At the conservatory she worked with various choreographers including Jennifer Archibald, William Isaac, Robert Moses ‘Kin, Edisa Week, and Urban Bush Women. She was a Young Artist in Boston Early Music Festival’s 2019 mainstage production of Steffani’s Orlando. She recently performed in Pacific MusicWork’s Wayward Sisters, and has danced in various opera productions in the Seattle area. Along with performing, Tshedzom is a choreographer and filmmaker who enjoys incorporating nature, music, heritage, current events, and philosophy into her work. She has set pieces on Kaleidoscope Dance Company, and has shared her films at various festivals including Tibetfest.
She recently premiered her show titled, a gallery of ཐུན་མཚམས།, which was an evening length work that incorporated live dance, dance film, and set. Tshedzom is delighted to have choreographed for A Restoration Era Macbeth, and hopes you enjoy the show!
